Confidence (November 8, 2009)

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

"And without faith it is impossible to please God."

I. The Word Confidence Has Great Power.
a. The word confidence comes from two words:
1. Con meaning "WITH"
2. Faido, which means "FAITH"
b. We think we can't do things ourselves, so we
emulate others.
c. Living without confidence assassinates every
opportunity that comes to us.

II. What Is Confidence?
a. Confidence is faith.
1. By faith, Elijah was transported to heaven...
2. By faith Abraham and Sarah became parents at
a very old age.
3. By faith Moses led God's people out of Egypt.
4. They all had confidence that God would provide.

III.Do You Lack Confidence?
a. Take a look at your level of confidence.
1. You lack confidence if you fear
responsibility.
2. You lack confidence if you become insecure
when you meet someone new.

IV. Final Statement.

We must keep in mind that in life, we win some and we lose some.Every phone call is not good news. You won't fascinate every person you meet. You won't win every game you play. But when we know the One in whom we believe, and we are confident that He is able to keep that which we have committed to him until the enc of time, we can have a spring in our step, even when things are temporarily not going our way.

Ask God He is always near to help and encourage us.
